New Year’s Eve is a wonderful time reflect on the past year and toast to the new year ahead. We have been so happy to share some of Asheville’s best food and drink with you in 2016, and are excited to explore more culinary adventures in the year to come! If you haven’t made New Year’s dinner reservations yet Foodtopia has your back with an array of celebratory options at many of Asheville’s best restaurants. One of our favorites, Cucina 24, will be offering a multi-course meal highlighting delicious local fare. James Beard nominated chef Brian Canipelli has crafted a unique menu with choices including suckling pig and a New York strip, as well as a selection of pastas all made in house. In addition, Isa’s Bistro is offering a 4-course dinner with an optional wine pairing. Chef Duane Fernandes is known for new American cuisine that is innovative and seasonally inspired; and this New Year’s menu definitely reflects this with dishes such as pan seared diver scallops and mini rabbit pot pie. Of course, after your perfect Asheville dinner there will be plenty of places to get moving and shake off 2016! Asheville Music Hall will be featuring Grass is Dead, who are “a force of Bluegrass and Grateful Dead music.” The show starts at 9pm and will go well into 2017. More information available here. In addition, The Social Lounge will be hosting a masquerade “Super Hero” Party, $5 cover, complimentary hor d’oeuvres and champagne toast. Starts at 9 PM. A few days later (once you’ve recovered from your 2016 hangover) return to Sovereign Remedies for one of their locally famous Indian dinners!
