Greetings Foodtopia fans! As we head into the most spooktacular time of year some of you may be wondering the best way to spend your Hallows Eve weekend?? Lucky for us Halloween is on a Monday this year, which means we have the entire weekend and then some to celebrate! Here’s a look at some of the best weekend festivities that Asheville has to offer!!
October 29th (Saturday)
Start your weekend off right with the 9th annual Pumpkin Peddler! This event, put on by Asheville on Bikes, will be hosted this year at New Belgium Brewing.The ride is free, open to the public, and costumes are customary. The ride gathers at 2:30pm, rolls at 3pm, and returns at 5pm-ish for a Halloween party with music, food, and activities. 1$ from each beer sold and all tips will be donated to AoB. Later that evening Asheville music hall is hosting “Villains 2!” Halloween Party. This event is a sequel to last year’s villain-themed soiree and will feature live music, dancing, and costumes late into the night. Tickets are $7 and an be purchased at the door or online here.
October 30th (Sunday)
For the first time ever, all 9 South Slope breweries will be collaborating on an event to bring you “Drinking With the Devil.” At 3pm each brewery will simultaneously release a special Devil’s Night brew as well as other surprises and special events. Each establishment will be doing something different, so make sure you swing by as many as you can!! Our top recommendations are Bhramari Brewhouse and Ben’s Tune-up!!
After your spooktacular pub crawl in the south side, head over to The Imperial Life where you can shake it up at the Haunted Disco!! The event will run from 9pm-2am and will feature a $6 spooky orange punch & REDRUM cocktail specials!
October 31st
On actual Halloween night Isa’s Bistro is stretching their creative muscles and offering a spooky holiday inspired menu featuring a mouth-watering duck confit arancini with a BOOberry gastrique and a pumpkin mousse, all being paired with a pumpkin old fashioned. Yum!
After dinner, head over Sovereign Remedies for their 2016 Halloween bash! The party will run from 6pm-midnight and includes a costume party and “frighteningly good cocktails.” Can’t wait!!
In addition, The Social Lounge will be featuring a triple Halloween special showing on their outdoor movie screen on the rooftop terrace!! Starting at 8pm and going well into the night- the event will feature “The Thing”, followed by “The Shining”, and ending with the original Dracula!
Of course, our Food Tours are running every day this weekend (and on Halloween) where you’ll be able to check out many of these hauntingly great establishments while you eat and drink your way around Foodtopia!!
