Greetings Foodtopians, Sunday has always been a popular day for lounging the day away around a great meal, and this year a lot of Asheville menus are available alongside live music to enhance you rest and rejuvenation. A lot of jazz as well as some Bluegrass and the final day of LEAF Downtown is happening tomorrow, so you should pretty much scrap any plans you may have had and plan to enjoy some music alongside the great Southern summer fare on Asheville menus right now. You’ll be glad you did.
Asheville menus offered alongside live music on Sundays include:
Jazz Brunch at The Imperial Life above Table 12-3pm
The Roaring Lions play the Imperial Life every Thursday night, and on the last Sunday of every month are doing a Jazz Brunch in the stylish cocktail and charcuterie bar. Table’s regular brunch menu is available downstairs and chef Jacob Sessoms puts together a different menu as a package deal for the jazz brunch. A mere $12 gets you a plate of food, coffee and the Lions’ modern New Orleans riffs, while Bar Manager Ben Johnson will have some special drinks going on at the cash bar. We heard Ben was going to be shaking up some Ramos Gin Fizzes this Sunday, no drink goes better with summer and jazz and brunch and you get the added bonus of enjoying the workout you get to watch while this classic cocktail gets mightily shaken.
Strada Jazz Brunch on the Social Lounge Roof
Strada has jumped into the Asheville menus with music mix, now offering a seated brunch with live jazz on the rooftop at Asheville’s oldest craft cocktail bar, Social Lounge. Brunch is from 11am-3pm, and you can enjoy shrimp and grits with and Italian Bloody Mary, garnished with basil, mozzarella and guanciale!
Mojo Kitchen and Lounge Bluegrass Brunch
Chef AJ Gregson cooks a Southern Brunch every Sunday that is one of our favorite Asheville menus. Homemade biscuits, fried chicken, bacon, smoke, gravy, build your own bloodies, all the necessary ingredients are there. If that’s not enough, The Bald Mountain Boys and Woody Wood are on hand every Sunday and this brunch is quickly becoming a hot ticket in Asheville. Brunch is from 11am-3pm, the music starts outside on the patio and moves to the inside stage after noon.
Jazz Sundays at Isis Restaurant and Music Hall
This is the real deal, as Isis hosts nationally known performers in their theater that boasts the best acoustics in Asheville. Right there in front of the stage you can sit down to a meal from one of the best Asheville menus around from chef Chris Jones, featuring lots of local and seasonal new American dishes. The food here is inventive and fresh, while the music and venue is the best Asheville has to offer. Doors open at 5:30pm, music usually kicks off at 7 or 7:30pm. This is a one of a kind experience not available in many towns.
The Lake Eden Arts Festival wraps up its downtown run this Sunday, and will feature an overload of art and live music. This party in Pack Park is the place to go in between your brunch and dinner excursions. This is a nationally known production showcasing the personality and heart of Asheville right in the city centre.
Have fun on Sunday, and stay tuned for more news on Asheville events, we’ve got a few wine dinners and special deals to report on this week! Until then, eat on!
