We couldn’t be more excited about this event happening at Mojo Kitchen and Lounge! The ingenuity behind Chef Aj Gregson’s cooking has a special place in Eating Asheville’s heart during our food tours, and the creative flare behind his seated dinners are always something to remember. This Valentine’s dinner will feature 5 courses of “aphrodisiac cuisine” and is sure to sell out quickly- so snag your spot asap! (http://mojokitchen.biz/ 828-255-7767)
Several other of Asheville’s best restaurants will be partaking in the Valentine’s fun as well. We’re excited to see what Chef Ricardo has up his sleeve for the “Valentine’s chef’s table” at Polanco, and Battery Park Book Exchange will be featuring live jazz all week long to celebrate!
Of course, you can’t celebrate Valentines Day without chocolate- and French Broad Chocolates is getting foodtopians into the spirit early with a family-friendly sensory chocolate tasting at their Factory (21 Buxton Ave) on Saturday, February 10. This free event will be held from 3-6pm and Guests will be able to sample the seasonal confections in their Aphrodisiac Collection, taste, touch, and smell the featured ingredients (like pomegranate seeds, honey and rose petals!) at the experience tables, sip bubbly, hot chocolate and coffee, and nibble on savory snacks. The chocolate team will also be leading guided mini-tours every half hour to give you a peek behind the scenes of the Chocolate Making and Confections departments!
And if you’re on the hunt for the perfect gift for your sweetie, be sure to check out French Broad Chocolate’s Aphrodisiac Collection featuring fun flavors like a cosmic love potion and a strawberries and bubbly! We also love the hand-rolled chocolate at Chocolate gems and think their pink peppercorn truffle or champagne Ganache wold be the perfect Valentines treat!
Of course the most important part of Valentine’s will be the finding that perfect romantic spot to spend the evening. we recommend the intimate dining room of Table, the newly opened and stunningly decorated S&W Artisanal or the long-time local favorite Zambra wine bar and Tapas. (Voted most romantic restaurant in Asheville for 8 years in a row!)
Also, joining one of our walking food tours over Valentine’s is a wonderful way to spend time with a loved one while enjoying many of Asheville’s best restaurants all in one afternoon! This is definitely one of our most popular holidays for food tours, so be sure to snag your tickets soon!
