Two New Asheville Restaurants Join the Eating Asheville Team

by Eating Asheville

downtown Asheville

So far 2017 has been an exciting year for the Asheville food scene… Two of  Asheville’s best chefs (John Fleer and Elliot Moss) received James Beard nominations, our Foodtopia has continued to be featured in national publications AND Eating Asheville has been lucky enough to welcome two new Asheville restaurants to our food tour family!

The Lobster Trap

We could not be more excited to have a new Asheville restaurant join our team the chef prepares a dish at Asheville's Lobster Trap restaurantwho’s dedication to fresh quality food creates a unique and delicious seafood dining experience here in the Carolina mountains. The folks at The Lobster Trap take fresh seafood seriously. Every day fresh deliveries of Maine Lobsters, mussels, clams and much more grace the doors of the best seafood restaurant in Asheville. Then chef Mike McCarty gets to work creating innovative dishes that are always a hit with local and visiting Asheville diners alike. On our tour we often get to try The Lobster Trap’s famous Lobster Mac N’ cheese; which pairs perfectly with a beer from their partner brewery Oyster House Brewing. As food tour guides something we’re constantly being asked is where to find fresh seafood in Asheville. With Lobster Trap being part of our team we’re excited that our guests can experience first hand just how great seafood can be in the Asheville mountains.

Mountain Madre

Mountain Madre MexicanMountain Madre is undeniably one of the best new Asheville restaurants! A few months ago the location formally known as Scully’s got a drastic overhaul and revamp as owner Danny Scully transformed the former sports bar into a chic and creative Mexican eatery and agave bar. Chef Kyle’s dedication to providing guests with authentic Mexican fare using fresh local ingredients shine in every dish- most of which are declared guest favorites by the end of every tour! Tequila lovers will be especially smitten with Moutan Madre’s impressive collection- all of which are available in tasting flights or crafted into delicious cocktails alongside fresh squeezed juices. Welcome to the family Mountain Madre!

Of course, amongst these new Asheville restaurants to join our team- Eating Asheville is proud to represent so many of Asheville’s best restaurants. We now have over 30 partners in downtown Asheville! That’s great news for any food tour aficionados looking to spread their wings and try some new Asheville restaurants!
