Greetings Foodtopia fans, if you are not familiar with the scene of West Asheville Restaurants going on these days you are missing out. This once dilapidated part of town is the city’s most bustling neighborhood in the evenings nowadays, becoming the area that locals go to hang out and avoid the sometimes hectic downtown scene. If you aren’t that familiar with the West Side, almost every one of the West Asheville restaurants we work with is running some sort of special or event on given days of the week this summer. So, we figured we’d give you the rundown since there are some great deals and happenings going on that are the perfect opportunity to discover West Asheville restaurants that are as good as any in the city.

The Barleycorn
Chef Greg Campbell is quietly serving some of the best food in Asheville over there on Haywood Road, treating traditional pub dishes with thoughtful modern interpretation. This is a place to drink and snack or have a three course meal. You’ll find a multitude of unique takes on classic dishes unlike an other menu in town.
Saturday & Sunday Brunch 10am-3pm
Mondays – 1/2 Price wings! These wings have won Asheville Wing Wars…
Tuesdays – The should be famous Bottle ‘n’ Board Night, featuring a bottle of wine and the most copiously laden charcuterie and cheese board you will ever see for $25
Wednesdays – $5 Moscow Mule variations featuring Chip’s house fermented ginger beer!
Thursdays – Thirsty Thursday features $1 off drafts and house wine + $4 well drinks
Buffalo Nickel
Buffalo Nickel is another mainstay on the Haywood Road drag, offering high quality preparations of classic comfort food with an emphasis on local and regional ingredients. You can enjoy their fine fare in the dining room or upstairs in the inviting lounge with the best game room in Asheville. Word on the street is that Buffalo Nickel has a new executive chef headed into town from a major market with a major restaurant scene. Exciting things are in store here, and they have a few weekly specials worth knowing about:
Sundays – Burger, french fries and a pint for $12
Tuesdays – Wings and a pint for $10 + Trivia!
Wednesdays – Half price bottles of wine!
Thursdays – Ribs, $18, with a different sauce and sides each week
Isis Restaurant and Music Hall
Chef Chris Jones‘ food is as good as it gets here in Foodtopia, and if you pair the menu with the amazingly restored theatre, outdoor green space, spacious patio and upstairs piano bar and lounge, you have one of the most unique concepts in town, and definitely one of our favorite West Asheville restaurants. In addition to scheduled shows throughout the week–at seated shows you can dine in the Theater!–the Woody family has a few standing events each week:

Sunday Jazz and Blues – doors open at 5pm
Tuesday Bluegrass Night – doors open at 5pm
Wednesday Night All You Can Eat King Crab Legs!
Zia Taqueria
Zia Taqueria is the place for New Mexican cuisine in Asheville, sourcing peppers directly from Hatch, New Mexico and offering barbacoa, posole, green and red chili sauce along with about every staple you could expect on a menu like this. Zia represents local and regional farms and always has daily specials on top of their bountiful menu. Add to that some of the friendliest, most attentive servers in town and amazing margaritas, including the frozen variety homemade in an Icee machine.
Taco Tuesdays – $3 Carnitas tacos + $2 cans of Tecate
Thursdays – a mere $8 gets you a nopales taco and an amazingly thirst quenching prickly pear margarita
