The Best Things to Do in Asheville, NC
Wanderers have long been drawn to Asheville, North Carolina, for its painterly mountains, New Age vibes, and ardent environmentalism. Eventually, artists, writers, musicians, yogis, farmers, brewers, chefs, retirees, and other transplants caught on to the good life that was unfolding in western Carolina, and the housing market ballooned. Today, Asheville is home to more than 85,000 people; much of that exponential growth has taken place in the last decade. The city still has its famed mountain views, of course—but they now come with a side of buzzy restaurants, lively bars, and arts festivals. Here are a few of our favorites.
